Embracing SANYO’s “Think GAIA” brand vision, dozens of SANYO volunteers from the San Diego area, together with friends and family, showed up bright and early Saturday, April 26th to participate in the sixth annual “Creek to Bay Cleanup”.  Park of world-wide celebration in honor of Earth Month, this popular local initiative focuses on the preservation of San Diego’s natural environment.
SANYO North America’s president Masami Murata kicked off the event by expressing his gratitude to the dedicated SANYO volunteers.  “It is important to give back to our local community and help preserve the environment we all share,” Murata noted.

“Creek to Bay Cleanup” is organized by one of San Diego’s leading non-profit groups,  “I Love A Clean San Diego” (ILACSD).  This year, over 4,000 motivated volunteers collected an astonishing 160,000 pounds of debris from 130 miles of coastlines and open space areas.  “This is a very good case; we definitely want to continue and hopefully expand our efforts in the future, “ noted Akihiko Oiwa, SANYO’s Corporate Communications Director.
