Can secondary batteries (remember, those are rechargeable) be used with primary batteries?

No way! Never mix batteries with different technologies together, the voltage and operating times vary and may cause leakage or even an explosion.

Can I use an old battery with a new one?

Not a good idea. The old one puts a strain on the new one.

What does "mAh" mean?

mAh stands for milliAmp hours. That is the measure of the total amount of energy stored in a battery.

What is polarity?

Polarity describes the positive and negative poles of a battery. It's easy to remember which is the positive end because it is the end with a cap and usually has a + sign. Always check the polarity when using or charging a rechargeable battery to insure proper placement.

How can I short-circuit a battery?

It's too easy and NOT something you want to do! For example, don't put loose batteries in your pocket with your keys or loose change.

Can I throw away my batteries in the incinerator?

No! Dispose of primary batteries in the trash and for Ni-Cd batteries call (800)8-Batteries for the nearest recycling facility in your neighborhood.
